Mold Training

Many work areas may impose situations that may potentially expose workers to mold. People need to be aware of such situations and have adequate knowledge to identify activities that may result in increased potential for workers and building occupants to be exposed to excessive levels of mold. Awareness training that provides workers with the knowledge and skills needed to identify mold contamination and situations that could require remediation are the need of the hour, as identification of and responding to mold-related situations may well be a new area of activity for many people.

A mold training and awareness program should include information regarding procedures for reporting suspected mold growth by building occupants and workers. Conditions that promote mold growth such as temperature, humidity, and moisture. There are a lot of mold training and certification courses that are offered both by government as well as private institutions. These certification courses train one for dealing with serious mold problems in any situation. The training courses cover general overview of a variety of mold related issues such as mold biology and the requirements for mold growth, conditions that will lead to mold growth indoors, health effects of elevated mold exposure, mold inspections, testing, and analysis, mold abatement, mold management, common misconceptions about mold growth.

A trained mold professional will be able to evaluate the potential for mold growth during a building inspection, recognize the signs of a potential mold problem in a building, educate one on the common causes of water intrusion into buildings and areas of hidden mold growth.

Mold training is not for the householder but if mold management is being considered as a career option mold training is a must from a reputed institute.
