1. Simply change the way in which your furniture or wall hangings are positioned. This can breathe some new life into your drab room. This can be done throughout your house, patio, basement and garage. You can even swap window treatments between rooms and switching an end table for a plant stand to give your home a new look without spending any money.
2. Take some time to go shopping at a thrift store. A lot of people downsize every day and so they just want to get rid off some things. These people are not looking to make money so you can easily find things that you can afford. While it may not be new, it is new to you and that is what matters.
3. Paint is the cheapest way to give your room a new look. White walls are out of fashion but you can still choose neutral colors like taupe, tan and beige. If you want to save even more money then check out the ‘oops’ section of the paint department. These sections often have cans of paint at drastically reduced prices because the colors were not matched correctly for the original customer.
4. You can also add decorative elements to your home. This does not mean that you have to purchase new furniture, but you can add splashes of color by using funky or classic accessories. This can instantly change your room’s mood. For instance, a new throw, some toss pillows and a new wall clock or frame will work wonders in a room. The possibilities here are endless.
